Lazy People at PTP
May 4th, 2008Many people at PTP spend hours a day sitting in front of their computer screen(s) trying to make it big in online poker. You may call them boring people with no lives, or maybe determined, but one thing for sure is they’re lazy mf’ers.
This was confirmed earlier this evening on PTP. pocket2s7869, the actual creator behind this blog, openly admitted to being a lazy mfer.
“pocket2s is on poker hiatus, but he has been lurking in SO and posting a bit, also, he is a lazy mf’er,” said DMoney78.
In response to DMoney’s post, pocket2s noted “true story”.
This just goes to show that whether you’re on a mission to win, or not, you’re a lazy mf’er if you play online poker. However, not everyone will openly admit it like pocket2s7869.

Young Respected Member Departs PTP
May 4th, 2008For some, poker is a way of life. They devote every minute to studying the game and trying to use his/her strategies in online or live gameplay. On the other hand, other people realize that spending a large amount of their time playing and studying the game is not worth it. Just recently one of the well known PTP members announced that his time here as come to end.
Andyguttormsen, a member since May 16th, 2007 has accumulated over 7,700 player points and a respectable 19,000 staker points. He mentioned in his thread “Take Care PTP” that he started off a year ago playing $1 sit n gos being absolutely clueless. The 20 year-old student will take a large break, not knowing exactly when he will return to the poker scene. Andyguttormsen says, “Most of the people here understand the negative aspects of social life, family life, school, etc that come with playing online poker semi-seriously. I don’t want it to get to that point”. It does take a lot to come out and realize that there are some other important things in life and having other goals to achieve.
Members of PTP will miss Andyguttormsen as he was one of the loyalist and a great contributer to PTP.
Good luck Andyguttormsen, we wish you all the best!

Find your money?
April 27th, 2008PartTimePoker has now implemented a new forum called FYM in the Gear/Report Abuse/Appeals section. The meaning of this forum is to have members post factual information on people that have rolled and owe money. For example, the roller’s address, the roller’s FaceBook or MySpace page, what alias the person plays under on all poker rooms, and any other information that could be helpful.
This forum is useful for a few reasons. One reason is to inform stakers on who the rollers are and to make sure they cannot get private backing or stakes from other sites. FYM is also useful for tracking down members in real life and possibly reporting the situation to the city’s local authority. This forum also tells the rollers that we know their personal information and gives the roller some incentive to pay back.
This forum is a very serious forum and all posts should follow the correct format. Do not post false information or start flame wars in this forum. Hopefully we can start hearing some successful payback stories in the near future that result from this thread.

Fake roll
April 24th, 2008It has been reported in a post by THEMONEYCARD that he “is a scumbag roller”. Sadly, this member was very productive. In just two months he built up 4,000+ posts, 2,000+ staker points, and 700+ player points. What looked like to be another outstanding member is now one that will be looked down upon by the PTP community.
There’s just one problem. He did not roll. He lied and joked that he ran off with his investors’ money. So now everything is fine, right? Wrong! Here at PTP we take all annoucements of rollings seriously. Making these types of annoucements will not be tolerated as a joke. If you are trying to be funny and make a joke, do not come out and say “I rolled.”

Addendum from DMoney78
THEMONEYCARD has made an apology, at least to some of the site’s admins and mods. Whether or not he will be banned is still up in the air.
“On the Map”?
April 22nd, 2008You win the 100k guaranteed on Pokerstars and you have had plenty of decent scores beforehand, are you “on the map”? Just recently Northerngent took down the special 100k guaranteed tournament that is hosted by Pokerstars every night. After a handful of final table finishes of the 100k guaranteed, Northerngent finally hits the big one for $19,000+. Before this score Northerngent has had some scores on Party Poker for 45k+. With nearly $600,000 in prizes and nearly $100,000 in profit, Northerngent seems to be “on the map”.
According to Herschelw, one of the prominent teachers of poker PartTimePoker has, Notherngent is not “on the map”. Hersch agrees that Northerngent is a successful player, but not one that 90% of the online poker world would recognize. Other players like Shuandeeb, Thay3r, PearlJammed, lilholdem954 etc… are names that almost everyone knows. Most likely, the reason that these players are well known is because they play the Sunday Million every week, whether it be a $200 buy in or $1,000 buy in. They play the $200 rebuy and the $100 rebuys. With these bigger buy ins, one can assume that their winnings would be greater. They play the tournaments that have a smaller field and a bigger buy in. On the other hand, Northerngent does not play in these tournaments where he can be recognized easily. He plays in the tournaments with the bigger fields and moderately high buy ins. With Northerngent having a full-time job and a life outside of online poker, it makes it hard to play a large volume of tournaments, especially live.
Hersch’s comment did not mean to bring down Northerngent, he was simply stating that Northerngent is not “on the map” like some other high volume, high buy in tournament players. Some other members on the forum took offense to Hersch’s statement, but to be honest, there was no hostility intended.
Gent comments on the whole thread “I took this as a compliment….“, where originally he posts the blog of the player that he beat to win the 100k. The thread that turned into a whole misunderstanding.
From Northerngent:
And to be honest, I could care less about being on ‘the map’ …who gives a fuck? I play poker because i enjoy it and have had some success…I have a job that I enjoy and that allows me to play a lot of poker. I don’t play poker to pay the bills, or buy stuff…my poker stays separate from my real life
And I don’t put in nearly the hours that the ‘ballas’ put it, but I play as much as i can…
End of conversation, end of arguement.
To be “on the map” one must play big buy ins at a high volume, and be successful at those buy ins. Gent simply does not have the time to be the “on the map balla” type. Here at PTP we will always support Gent because he is one of our “ballas”.
