Sit out and Go all in

March 23rd, 2008

Two PTPOPS private tournaments were held today that brought controversy to the forums. Event #10, the “sitoutament”, was running smoothly for a while, until randomly JimTheFish sat in and began taking pots away from the table. Of course the table began yelling at Jim to sit out, but he kept doing it, for 10 hands Jim kept taking pots from the table and when it was all said and done the drama and fighting began. Of course this is strictly against the rules in the sit out tournament and Jim was called a cheater and talks of punishment started. Jim’s story was that his wife had sat in for him at the table because she thought he was losing money while he was away from the game. And while this is a reasonable explanation, by every definition the account “JimTheFish” cheated. By the end of the tournament Jim had cashed in the tournament and did make good by sending the winnings back to participants that finished behind him. Everything looked to be fine and the evening continued on to its next story of cheating in the all in or fold tournament.

TokerJallday started the tournament with two acts of cheating at his AIOF table, first by raising, and then limping in to the pot. The rules of the tournament are pretty obvious by the name, you either go all in or fold, and Toker did neither of these the first couple of hands. After that he seemed to play fairly, but the question remained if his fate would be the same as Jim’s. At first Toker seemed very reluctant to send his winnings back, but after a few more hands revealed that he had done the same thing, he admitted his mistake was grounds for his disqualification. He sent the funds, but his reluctance at first was cause for more drama, as questions arose about his integrity.

Post of the Day

Thread: **Important topic!!** Protecting each others investments

posted by The Real DeCoy

“Hi guys,

I am writing this because of another thread that exists in SO detailing how a member who cannot be contacted now was able to sell all his investments in BAPs and quietly disappear.

Id say there are about 50 people I trust on this site and I trust them mostly because they both stake and play and have significant sums of money out all the time.

That being said, its up to us to police each other when members request to sell shares in investments. Anytime I have been asked to either buy shares off someone or someone has asked to sell shares im my bap I have interrogated them. Once I found something suspect and I posted in SO. This turned out to be no big deal, but I’m doing my part to make sure the rest of us dont get fucked.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if someone wants to sell you shares or sell shares in a BAP of yours in which they are invested take a second to look into it. Check their profile and ask other people that person is also invested in whether they have received the same request.

Shit happens and people will roll. Mostly because I believe that we make it easy for them to do it. Its up to us to get this shit on lock so we don’t get robbed all the time.

ITS UP TO US. PLAIN AND SIMPLE. ASK QUESTIONS AND CHECK UP PLEASE!”
