pmarr on the bubble of event 21

June 5th, 2008

It was posted today by jordankickz that Peter “pmarrsouth” Marr was deep in the live, 6 max, WSOP event 21. The news came as a surprise to many, as a bunch of the top online and live pros are participating in the tournament as well. But pmarr definitely appears to be holding his own. The event is a $1,500 buy in with over $600k to first. The last update given was with 132 players left, with 126 making it to the money. Pmarr has approximately $50,000 in chips. The three day event will end with Final Table play on Saturday.

LFMagic drama finally over?

June 4th, 2008

Some members’ concerns were put to rest today when LFMagic took a screenshot of his cashier and showed the forum. It did confirm his $38,000 in cashouts, and did not show any deposits made. Investors still have concerns about his bankroll management and his proneness to forum tilt. But overall the drama surrounding LFMagic has seemed to die down. Pokerismygame has given LFMagic a $200 stake to run HU matches, and poker has stated that he would report any “hiccups” in the process.

LFMagic - The new neverheeb?

June 3rd, 2008

LFMagic admitted today that he was indeed busto online, his recent adtivity on OPR and SS confirms this, $2.20 MTTs is always a classic sign. But he has kept to his story on cashing out nearly $50,000. Many members want proof of that, but he has yet to give any real evidence.

The 300 post thread created by LFMagic today started with him asking members what type of BAP they would like to see put up by him. This led many members to believe that LFMagic had indeed gone broke and needed staking again. And while LF isn’t a bad player by any means, his recent actions in SO has caused concerns for many potential investors.

“so i was messing around on my webcam and pulled out my schlong and started waving it around. i was trying to make a video to send to chiznad’s girlfriend, because she asked for one. however, little did i know that instead of making a video i could save, i was making a streaming video which broadcasted to my justin.tv

i have a ghey friend who just happened to be watching (edit: creepy ghey friend, because i explicity told him i wasn’t going to broadcast for at least a few more hours, but he happened to be lurking in my channel anyway)

and so now instead of chiznad’s girl getting my private movie, my ghey friend saw it instead. now, i don’t mind that he’s ghey, but the catch is that i’m supposed to go visit him next weekend. he’s already said he’s fantasized about my manhoob. What’s my line?

June 2nd, 2008

KCBlitzz, who has been at PTP for all of two weeks final tabled 3 big tournaments on FTP today, and went deep in two others. Thread: Take your hat off to this guy..Just got Medal of Honor today..dived on live gernade

HERO BELOW R.I.P AMERICAN HERO.

Spc. Ross McGinnis, who was killed Dec. 4, 2006, in Iraq when he smothered a grenade with his body, will receive the Medal of Honor, sources told Army Times.
McGinnis, 19, is the second soldier to receive the nation’s highest valor award for actions while serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Sgt. 1st Class Paul Ray Smith, who was killed April 4, 2003, fighting off insurgents in a fierce firefight south of Baghdad, was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor two years after he died.
McGinnis, of 1st Platoon, C Company, 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, is credited with saving the lives of four fellow soldiers.
On Dec. 4, 2006, McGinnis was manning the turret in the last Humvee of a six-vehicle patrol in Adhamiyah in northeast Baghdad when an insurgent threw a grenade from the roof of a nearby building.
“Grenade!” yelled McGinnis, who was manning the vehicle’s M2 .50-caliber machine gun.
McGinnis, facing backwards because he was in the rear vehicle, tried to deflect the grenade but it fell into the Humvee and lodged between the radios.
As he stood up to get ready to jump out of the vehicle, as he had been trained to do, McGinnis realized the other four soldiers in the Humvee did not know where the grenade had landed and did not have enough time to escape.
McGinnis, a native of Knox, Pa., threw his back against the radio mount, where the grenade was lodged, and smothered the explosive with his body.
The grenade exploded, hitting McGinnis on his sides and lower back, under his vest. He was killed instantly. The other four men survived.
McGinnis, who was laid to rest at Arlington National Cemetery, will be honored during a ceremony at the White House. The ceremony is expected to take place sometime in June.”

LFmagic plays $5,200 WTA

June 1st, 2008

Going against some peoples advice, LFmagic played the $5,200 Winner Take All tournament on Pokerstars today. The winner of the tournament took home $80,000, but needless to say it wasn’t LFmagic. LFmagic took 13th in the 16 player tournament, and won only experience. LFmagic said that he had profited enough on the day for him to be able to play the tournament, and he did not seem to regret his decision. While playing with PearlJammer, Stinger, strassa, westmenlo, and ADZ may be a good experience, it was definitely an expensive one.

Member and mutual fund manager Ducttape217 was given DNS + Mad Ban today. He was first given investigation gear because of his unupdated rail, but after he logged on and appeared to see the PM’s that moderator chestersdad sent, he was given DNS. It is the first mutual fund manager to be given DNS and the second to receive investigation gear (Razortexan). No contact has been made by ducttape.

Hersch calls out Que

May 31st, 2008

Que’s former coach Herschelw called out Que yesterday after Que sent Hersch a PM stating that he was ending the deal with Herschel. The coaching contract was for 6 months, in which Que was to give herschel a portion of his FT earnings. The one month BAP that was ran by que also ended down about $1,000 and the makeup will now obviously not be made up. Que made one post in the thread created by Herschel stating:

In my defense…

Regarding the May BAP, I played my best and focused really hard on making the mutual fund money.
I played close to 300 tournaments during May and gave my best effort in order to make everyone a profit.
I left the bankroll stuck only $975 out of the $8000 investment I was given. Not every investment can be a guarunteed success,
the way the BR guidelines were set up, if I got stuck 2-3k, it would basically completely screw me over. So I felt it was
best to not bury myself any further than I already was.

Regarding the training agreement… a better deal was put on the table that couldn’t wait 4 more months. Ultimately, just like
herschel, my only goal is to increase my own bottom line. Herschel threw a lot of kinks in the deal he laid
out also, from adding more students, to the training site, to really giving me unimpressive advice deep in tournaments.
Overall, this was just a terrible deal for me, and I pretty much understood the consequences of backing out of it.

GG neverbeg

-Q

P.S. - I won’t be reading any more of this thread, nor will I be returning to the site at all. My apologies to all parties who are offended by my actions.

All this has made Herschel question whether he wants to keep coaching, and many don’t seem to blame him.
